Our approach

About us

Acton Academy Timișoara is a 21st-century private school (grades 1-12th) with learner-driven technology, Socratic discussions, hands-on projects, and real-world apprenticeships in an intentionally diverse and character-forging community.

Acton Academy Timișoara joined in May 2021 the IALDS global network of schools sharing the vision and standards of the first Acton Academy founded in 2009 in Texas.

At Acton Academy Timișoara, children (Eagles) are trusted, guided and empowered to be responsible for their own learning, and to use their learning to change the world. Our learner-driven community puts children at the center of their learning, allowing them to create and maintain personal goals, develop long term relationships and acquire real world meaningful skills.

Students at Acton Academy Timișoara learn together in mixed-age classrooms, bringing the classic one-room schoolhouse into the modern age. Kids learn to mentor and be mentored by each other.

Guides—our term for teachers—are not lecturers, but facilitators of student learning and growth. Kids and parents track their learner’s progress on an online dashboard updated daily.

Our students benchmark their academic knowledge every year through internationally recognized standard tests.
